I have been actively building diverse communities for the past 10 years. Most recently my community building work has been centered on developing intentionally diverse, volunteer-based communities for global standards that consider what voices are missing from critical conversations, and considering models that help invite and welcome these voices to the conversations. A frequent writer and speaker of the topic of community, I have been exploring the implications of virtual settings in ensuring that communities remain strong in the absence of face-to-face interaction.

Throughout my career, I have embraced my nonlinear path as an engineer, graphic designer, consultant and computer scientist. My broad experience and unique point of view have helped me build a community of clients, colleagues, mentors, and mentees around a common goal: accessible innovation for all.

Today, I serve as an independent consultant helping technology companies, research institutions, and nonprofits develop, implement and market their products. I seek to inspire industries known for their homogeneity to take the road less traveled, embrace alternative solutions, and ditch elitist ideals.
